Les Enfants Terribles

In Les Enfants Terribles I aim to articulate the fleeting memories of encounters with strangers. I observe and through the pictures bring forward my testimony.

To me, appearance is a cave where the fire illuminates shadows of heavenly bodies. They perform only for themselves, to recreate their imagery. To be treasured, to play at being something else, and itself. I attempt to create a narrative that embraces and finally exposes the collective fantasy.

At the core of my work is a dream that does not exist for the pleasure of others. It is all about performing the body, choosing what to hide and always reaching to an ideal that can never be achieved. Here, in the images, a shared dream full of joy is unveiled.

Les Enfants Terribles is an ongoing series and part of Siira’s MA work.
